What you can do right now

How Leaders Can Help

Our county and state leaders are our first line of defense. Even when they say their hands are tied, they still hold influence and responsibility. Their voices, votes, and advocacy matter in shaping policy, protecting our land, and representing the will of the people who elected them.

  • Influence & Advocacy: They can use their platform to advocate against projects that threaten the community, even if final approval lies elsewhere. Public opposition from leaders carries weight.

  • Regulatory Oversight: County and state officials can review zoning, permitting, environmental studies, and public safety impacts. They can demand accountability and transparency.

  • Legislative Tools: State representatives and senators can propose or support legislation that protects rural counties from industrial-scale solar and battery projects where they don’t belong.

  • Constituent Representation: They are elected to carry our voice. By standing with the community, writing letters, testifying, and rallying support, they can elevate local concerns to decision-makers higher up.

  • Coordination: They can call on state agencies, push for impact studies, and coordinate with neighboring counties facing similar threats.

Below is a list of our leaders. Take action today and call, email, attend county meetings - Make your voice heard!
